- 500 grams schwarzwurzel (black salsify)
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 100 grams grated cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Peel the schwarzwurzel and cut into pieces.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add the schwarzwurzel and cook for a few minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle cheese on top.
- Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- For an extra flavor, add some herbs like thyme or parsley.
- Keep an eye on the cooking time as it may vary depending on the thickness of the schwarzwurzel pieces.
