- 200 grams dark chocolate
- 200 grams butter
- 250 grams sugar
- 6 eggs
- 200 grams flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 300 grams cherries
- 400 ml whipped cream
- 50 grams powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons cherry liqueur
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).
- Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the sugar and eggs until creamy.
- Mix the melted chocolate into the egg mixture.
- Sift together the flour and baking powder, then fold into the chocolate mixture.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Once baked, let the cake cool before layering.
- Slice the cooled cake into two layers.
- Mix the cherries with cherry liqueur.
- Layer the cherries and whipped cream between the cake layers, then frost the top with whipped cream.
