- 200 grams dark chocolate
- 150 grams butter
- 200 grams sugar
- 5 eggs
- 100 grams flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 jar cherries
- 200 ml cream
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Melt the chocolate and butter together.
- In a bowl, beat the sugar and eggs until fluffy.
- Add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and stir well.
- Combine flour and baking powder; mix into the batter.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake tin and bake for about 25 minutes.
- Let the cake cool and slice it in half.
- Spread the cherries and cream between the layers.
- Decorate the top with remaining cream and chocolate shavings.
Notes
- For best results, use high-quality chocolate.
- You can substitute fresh cherries if available.
- Let the cake chill in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before serving.
