- 1 1/2 cups Oreo cookie crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 4-5 Oreo cookies, chopped (for topping)
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a bowl, combine Oreo cookie crumbs and melted butter, then press into the bottom of a springform pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
- Add the vanilla extract, eggs, buttermilk, red food coloring, and cocoa powder. Mix until fully incorporated.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the springform pan.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
- Turn off the oven, crack the door, and let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Top with whipped cream and chopped Oreo cookies before serving.
Notes
- Allow the cheesecake to cool completely before refrigerating for the best texture.
- This cheesecake can be made a day in advance.
- If using homemade whipped cream, use heavy whipping cream for best results.
