A rich and creamy cheesecake with the classic flavor of red velvet and a delightful Oreo crust.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Oreo cookie crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 4-5 Oreo cookies, chopped (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine Oreo cookie crumbs and melted butter, then press into the bottom of a springform pan.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the vanilla extract, eggs, buttermilk, red food coloring, and cocoa powder. Mix until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the springform pan.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
  7. Turn off the oven, crack the door, and let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Top with whipped cream and chopped Oreo cookies before serving.

Notes

  • Allow the cheesecake to cool completely before refrigerating for the best texture.
  • This cheesecake can be made a day in advance.
  • If using homemade whipped cream, use heavy whipping cream for best results.
