Delicious traditional German cookies, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams all-purpose flour
  • 250 grams unsalted butter
  • 200 grams sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 250 grams powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and mix well.
  4. Gradually incorporate the flour and baking powder until a dough forms.
  5. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/2 cm and cut out desired shapes.
  6. Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  8. Let the cookies cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
