A delicious classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich made with thinly sliced steak, melted cheese, and sautéed onions.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add onions and sauté until caramelized.
  3. Add the sliced ribeye steak to the skillet and cook until browned.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Divide the steak and onions among the hoagie rolls.
  6. Top each sandwich with provolone cheese and cover until melted.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For an authentic taste, use Amoroso rolls.
  • Add jalapeños for extra heat.
  • Experiment with different cheeses like Cheez Whiz or American.
