Traditional German Easter rolls that are soft and fluffy.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams all-purpose flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 50 grams butter
  • 1 egg
  • 15 grams fresh yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk and dissolve the yeast in it.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the flour.
  4. Knead until a smooth dough forms.
  5. Let rise for about 1 hour.
  6. Shape the dough into rolls and place on a baking tray.
  7. Let rise again for 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Serve warm with butter and jam.
  • Can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
