A rich and indulgent chocolate cake layered with mocha cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 eggs
  • 200 g sugar
  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 150 g butter
  • 200 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 300 ml heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp espresso
  • 100 g powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Beat the eggs and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Melt the chocolate and butter together.
  4. Fold the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.
  5. Sift in the flour and baking powder.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Let it cool completely.
  8. Whip the heavy cream and mix in espresso and powdered sugar.
  9. Layer the cream between the cake layers and on top.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of coffee liqueur to the cream.
  • Store in the refrigerator if not consumed immediately.
