A delicious variation of the traditional Austrian dessert, Kaiserschmarrn, featuring cherries.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 500 ml milk
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 100 grams pitted cherries
  • 30 grams butter
  • Powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Fold in the cherries gently.
  3. In a large skillet, melt half of the butter over medium heat.
  4. Pour the batter into the skillet and cook until golden brown on the bottom, about 5 minutes.
  5. Flip the pancake and cook the other side until golden brown.
  6. Remove from the skillet, tear into pieces, and serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar.

Notes

  • This dish is best served warm for a delightful texture.
  • Feel free to add other fruits like apples or raisins.
