- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
- Add softened butter, egg, and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and lemon juice until smooth.
- Roll dough into balls and flatten each ball; place a spoonful of cream cheese mixture in the center, then fold the edges around it.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, then allow to cool.
Notes
- Store the cookies in an airtight container.
- For a richer flavor, add a pinch of espresso powder to the cookie dough.
