A rich and creamy Indian dish made with marinated chicken in a buttery tomato sauce.

  • 1 pound boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and ginger-garlic paste. Add chicken and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat; sauté onions until golden.
  3. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, sugar, and salt; simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream; cook for another 10 minutes.
  6. Garnish with cilantro and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken overnight.
  • Serve with naan or rice for a complete meal.
  • Adjust spice levels according to your preference.
