- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 ½ cups warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix until it forms a dough, then knead for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into smaller pieces.
- Roll each piece into a flat circle about ¼ inch thick.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Place the rolled dough on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes until puffed and lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
