Authentic recipe for homemade cevapcici, a delicious Balkan dish.

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 500 g ground pork
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 100 ml sparkling water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef and ground pork.
  2. Add onions, garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, cayenne pepper, and parsley.
  3. Gradually add sparkling water and mix until the mixture is well combined.
  4. Form the mixture into small sausages about 10 cm long.
  5. Grill or pan-fry the cevapcici until browned and cooked through.
  6. Serve hot with your choice of sides.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, let the mixture rest in the fridge for a few hours before grilling.
  • Serve with bread and a fresh salad.
