This creamy, hearty Clam Chowder is a classic dish that brings warmth and comfort, perfect for any cold day.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 cups clam juice
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cans (6.5 oz each) chopped clams, drained
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pot, cook bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside.
  2. Add onion and celery to the pot and sauté until softened.
  3. Add potatoes and clam juice, bring to a boil, then simmer until potatoes are tender.
  4. Stir in heavy cream, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, and clams. Heat through.
  5. Season with salt and pepper, and top with crispy bacon before serving.

Notes

  • For a thicker chowder, mash some of the potatoes once cooked.
  • Serve with oyster crackers for added texture.
