Bärlauchbrot is a flavorful bread made with wild garlic, perfect for springtime enjoyment.

Ingredients

  • 500 g flour
  • 300 ml water
  • 10 g salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 7 g dry yeast
  • 100 g fresh wild garlic (Bärlauch)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and dry yeast.
  2. Add water gradually and mix to form a dough.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
  4. Chop the wild garlic and incorporate it into the dough.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  6. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a baking pan.
  7. Let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (428°F) for 25-30 minutes.
  9. Let it cool before slicing.

Notes

  • Perfect to serve with butter or as a side with soups.
  • Wild garlic is best gathered in spring.
