A deliciously rich and gooey baked oats dessert that combines the comforting flavors of oats with the indulgence of a lava cake.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk (or plant-based milk)
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup nut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the rolled oats, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the milk, maple syrup, nut butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until set.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving to allow the chocolate to settle.

Notes

  • For extra gooeyness, use more chocolate chips in the center.
